Meaningful Monday: Her Arms are Strong for Her Tasks

Yesterday as the drizzle turned to sleet & snow and I began to question my sanity for participating in an outdoor barn sale this early in the Spring, a verse from Proverbs 31 was on my heart;

"She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks."

As all of my craft fair & barn sale friends know, these events can be exhausting!  But, boy, are they rewarding!  Even when it rains, even when the customers are few & the hours are long, even when we have packed & unpacked the same merchandise twenty times, and even when our work literally results in blood, sweat & tears, our work is still wonderfully rewarding.

Some days it would be so easy to give up & say "This is too much..."  But if we did we would miss out on so much!  We would miss out on living our passion.  So we press on, we don't give up, & we become stronger in the face of the next set of challenges we will certainly face.  Being able to do something we love in life does not mean our tasks will be free of challenges.  It does mean that we can have joy in knowing that even when things are hard, the reward is far greater than the temporary trials.

I know so many of my friends, teachers, nurses, accountants, parents, engineers, who can relate to similar trials in their work.  And even our Christian walk is a parallel to these challenges we face in our daily tasks. So even though the sleet & snow come when we are the most exhausted, we press on knowing that our joy lies not in the temporary trials but in the beautiful reward awaiting us at the finish line.

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 3:14

We would like to thank everyone whose hard work made the becca Anne Barn Sale a huge success.  We enjoyed meeting so many new customers & vendor friends this weekend and hope our paths will cross again soon.  Stay tuned to our Facebook page for details about some exciting events coming up soon!

Welcome Home,

Rachel
