Back to the Basics

It's hard to believe we're in the heat of July with temps forecasted for the high 90s-100 degrees this week, and we're already thinking about "Back to School." Do you remember the days when summer lasted through the end of August and Labor Day marked the start of the school year? That just isn't the case anymore, our dear friends who work in the school system are heading back over the next couple of weeks, and the students will soon follow. It doesn't take long for those days spent by the pool & ballfields to turn into packing lunches and homework.

Even though, Mike & I no longer have kids at home, this time of year always makes me think of getting back to the basics. Shifting back to a better routine; back to healthier eating; back to a regular sleeping schedule (I stay up way too late watching shows); and of course my favorite, back to fall cleaning!! (But, that's another blog for another week!)

Summer gives us a such sweet reprieve from our busy schedules. But, now the time has come to dust off our calendars and start scheduling for the rest of the year! (By the way, not that we're counting, but there are only 5 months til Christmas!)

How do you like to keep track of your schedule? Are you like Rachel and need to actually write things in a planner to keep track? Or do you prefer my method of a family wall calendar with reminders scheduled in my phone?

If you love planners like Rachel, now is the time to come in to shop for a new one. Each of our planners covers 18 months, so you can start now to use your favorite as a school year planner. You'll love this year's designs, layouts and guided devotional thoughts. The hardest part will be to decide which one you want! We know how you look forward to them, so here they are!

As we're thinking about the coming months, the long, hot days of summer eventually changing over to cozy fall nights, we hope you'll join us in remembering the more carefree days of summer. We hope your schedules will be filled with time for fellowship with dear friends, days for doing the things you love most, and plenty of space and margin for taking care of yourself.

Until next time, happy planning~
