Bedtime Blues

My schedule just seems messed up lately. I'm staying up late and waking up late--earlier this week I had full out insomnia.

The other night, however, nothing would work. After rolling my snoring husband over too many times to count, I finally got out of bed. I looked around our home and decided to take all my decor down--all of it! I laid everything on the floor and countertops and then went back to bed.

I have so many thoughts that run through my head at night. My mind goes to redecorating while I'm trying to fall asleep. So I figured if I had a clean slate, my brain would calm down and then fall asleep! The following morning I overheard my husband say to our daughter, "what happened out here last night?!"

Fear not! Rachel and I had a Face Timed that day, and she helped me redecorate. (That's another blog for another day!)

So if you're having a hard time sleeping, too, here are some things I try: essential oils, warm bath before bed, pray, read, take some Benedryl, or my favorite--inhale for 4 seconds...hold my breath for 7 seconds...then exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat. It usually does the trick.

How are you coping with staying at home? What are you tricks to help you sleep? We'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, sweet dreams!

Joy
