Christmas Village Is Almost Here!!

When did "My Favorite Things" become a Christmas song? I know it's from Sound of Music, but I don't remember Julie Andrews and the kids bounding on the bed, singing the song in their Christmas pajamas! I hear it every year and just don't get it! (Please enlighten me if you know!)

Well, one of my favorite things during this time of year is definitely Christmas Village in Nashville. I look forward to it every year. When my daughter was in grade school, I would take her out of school on Friday and spend the day together at Christmas Village. We have such sweet memories buying white chocolate popcorn and kettle corn, sipping hot cider, smelling the orange slice potpourri, and buying cute clothes and jewelry.

I've been working at Christmas Village since 2008, first with an adorable children's boutique and now with The Wreath Stand. One of my favorite things about working a booth is all the friends I see from over the years. It's usually a quick catch-up with them--like our one time a year when we see each other--and it makes my heart so happy.

I love the tradition of Christmas Village. We will meet women whose tradition the past 20 years is to go together to CV--they even have matching shirts and hats with lights on them! Life gets busier and busier, but Christmas Village is the same weekend every year,  bringing friends together, filled with laughter and merriment.

People watching is another fun thing to do at Christmas Village. We've seen women fight over the last baby Jesus sign; spill wine all over a blanket; and get run over by a stroller--all in 10 minutes!! I've had friends from another booth buy TEN of those delicious candied apples over the span of the weekend. (You know who you are!)

It's true to say that we start planning for the next Christmas Village the week after the last one ends. Rachel has found so many new, cute items for Christmas Village this year. It's been exciting to see what she has in store for you! (We've been tagging things since July!)

So with Christmas Village being this week, we want to say thank you for making us one of your favorite places to shop. We look forward to seeing you return every year. We will be in Building 3, as you walk out of Building 2.

Can't wait to see you all!

Joy

Oh! Our store front on Thompson Lane will also be open, so you will have 2 places to see us this weekend!
