Fall into Encouragement
How kind is the Lord to put friends in our lives to show us His love? Recently a sweet friend left a huge bag at my door. She was getting rid of all her embroidery notions and thought I could use them. Doesn't the sweetness of God truly come in many different ways? It was like a sweet kiss on my forehead from Him.
She gave me kindest gift of encouragement. She didn’t know my husband recently lost his job, or that I was having a rough day, or that I truly did need threads and interfacing--she just wanted to get rid of everything. Little did she know how much she blessed me.
In the midst of disappointment, I couldn’t help but gaze at the threads and be reminded that God is the Master seamstress. He weaves all things together for the good of those who love Him. His timing is always perfect. Sometimes we're the encourager; sometimes we're the recipient of encouragement from others.
Next Monday, September 12, is National Day of Encouragement. Who do you know who needs some encouragement? Whether it's a word of encouragement, a simple note sent in the mail, or an act of service, when the Lord sets something on your heart to do, be intentional to do it! You may not even know why you’re doing it, but God knows, and you'll be so glad you did!
Until next time, be blessed and encouraged today, dear friend.
