Gift Of Generosity

If you’ve ever been the recipient of someone else’s generosity, it’s probably something that has touched you deeply. Whether it’s something big, small, anonymous, or from a friend, generosity is often a rare gift with a large impact in your life.

When my husband lost his job in 2012, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of others. Someone anonymously mailed us a $100 bill along with a sweet, encouraging note. A dear friend gave us one of his cars. The Lord truly showed us His love over and over through people caring for us during a very difficult time.

Being the recipient of God’s generosity in our lives compels us to show it to others. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be generous: I think it all starts with a generous heart—sharing your time, talents, and treasures. I enjoy sharing my talents by helping friends with sewing or painting projects. I have another friend who is so generous with her time, running errands and spending time with her neighbors.

What are some ways others have blessed you with their generosity? Have you experienced a unique act of kindness? We would love to hear from you, encourage one another, and share ideas about how we can be more gracious givers.

Until next time, be generous with your smile!

Joy!
