Happy Entertaining; Celebrating July 4th in Style
I love how almost every month there's a holiday to celebrate. The 4th of July is just around the corner and depending on where you live, you could already be hearing fireworks from your neighbors! (put that under the category of "things that scare my puppies!")
(I know you've missed pics of my puppies!!)
Do you enjoy decorating for the 4th of July? Perhaps you've gotten a head start in May with the red, white, and blue for Memorial Day Weekend and then carry it on for the entire summer. All of these colors just scream "happy" for summertime fun!
You probably know this about us, but we love all things fun and happy! And since we love a good party, we thought we'd share some tips to make your 4th of July celebrations the best. This year July 1st is on a Friday, so you can celebrate all weekend long through Monday.
- Keep it casual. Get togethers don't have to be super fancy (unless you want them to be!) Especially if you're having everyone over outside, be kind to yourself and keep it casual. Paper napkins, plastic tumblers and straws, as well as melamine plates are perfect! For more variety, ask everyone to bring their favorite dish or dessert.
- Keep it cool. Unless you live in the mountains, it's probably going to be a super hot 4th of July! Find things around your home to stay cool--plenty of fans, electric and folded hand fans. Make sure your A/C is working and your electric bill is paid!! Fill up a cooler with lots of ice for popsicles, watermelon, and anything else you want to keep cold.
- Keep it creative. Fun Games=Fun Times. Outdoor games are a great way to get everyone out of the house and away from their phones. Have several games to play in the pool; don't forget the water guns, too! Take games like Bocce Ball, Corn Hole, Croquet, and large outdoor Jenga and have a tournament of champions. Or, if it's too hot and the indoors are calling, the 4th is a perfect time for a game of cards inside.
Whatever your plans are for the 4th, we hope it's fun and safe. Stop by and let us help you make your celebration perfect!
Until next time,
Joy
