The Joy of Air Conditioning

Is it the dog days of summer yet or are they not 'til August?! Whatever these days are called, it's HOT!! And since I always try to find something to be thankful for, here it is: I'm thankful for air conditioning! Many a neighbor has said to me, "Where are you during the summer?!" I'll tell you where I am--I'm inside enjoying cooler temperatures!

Of course, just because it's steamy outside doesn't mean your indoors can't be cozy. I want my home to be an oasis for myself and others--to beckon friends to come inside, relax, and feel loved. We often associate coziness with the fall & winter, but we want to share our tips for keeping that cozy feeling in your home all year long.

Every season has a scent of it's own, and we LOVE summer candles! Whether you choose At The Beach, Citrus Grove, Southern Hospitality, Lemon Verbena, or Volcano, these scents are going to make you feel like you're on vacation while being inside!

Snuggle up with a light weight throw.

Whether I'm watching tv or reading a book, you'll find me snuggled on the sofa under a blanket on me because my husband likes our place cold in the summer! If you're wanting that cozy feeling, throw some light weight blankets on your sofa or roll them up and put in a basket. The light weight feels good without the heaviness and heat from a winter blanket. You and your guest can enjoy that coziness even in the heat of the summer.

Accessorize for the season.

Now's the time to embrace lemons, deep greens, and sunflowers--all things that reflect nature. I love bringing greenery into my home--it gives that sense of life and peace everywhere I turn. (Even when the grass outside is burnt to a crisp.) By bringing it inside, you can still enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and appreciate the joy of air conditioning.
