Trusting Through Transitions

Posted by Joy Morris on

Last week I came to work, and like overnight, Rachel transitioned the store with amazing fall decor. It's hard to wrap my brain around the fact that fall is here. Despite the extreme heat we're experiencing, the transition to fall is truly happening. Transitioning to different seasons has never been a real challenge for me, but this year...can we just say that this year has been an overall challenge!! That's another blog for another day. Stay tuned next week for funny Covid excuses. As I was looking around my home yesterday, I realized I have 3 different signs saying "be...

Lessons We Don't Learn

Posted by Joy Morris on

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. I wouldn't call myself insane, but there are definitely some stupid things I repeatedly do, thinking "this time will be different!" My husband calls me "calamity Joy Joy."  Rachel just says, "you did it to yourself!" Below is the accident that motivated Rachel to buy me a ladder for Christmas. I like to get things done NOW and don't want to take the time to get a ladder! The problem goes back to grade school when we used to climb up the side of the school...

Summer Weddings

Celebrating The 4th

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays. I think back on years past and remember happy memories of pool parties, lake days, and some of the most amazing fireworks I've ever seen from Washington DC to St Louis and the gulf coast. I will never forget the year not long after we were married that Jay and I decided to snag a cheap, last minute flight to Washington, DC, for Independence Day. Apparently we weren't the only people who decided to celebrate at our nation's capital... I have never seen so many people in my life as we crowded onto the national...

Retail Therapy

Posted by Joy Morris on

After being closed for about six weeks, it's been amazing to see everyone's faces again. For us extroverts, not seeing you for that long has been horrible! Who needs retail therapy right now? Being cooped up at home for so long, a lot of us want to get out and SHOP! We have so many sweet customers who've come in and told us that we’re their happy place for “retail therapy.” Of course, we're delighted to hear that since that’s our goal here at The Wreath Stand. When I think about shopping, retail therapy, and really enjoying my time in...
